What is Organic Food Production ?
Organic farming is a sustainable alternative to conventional farming methods. According to Manitoba Agriculture, organic farming is a method of food production that does not use synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, genetically engineered plants, growth regulators and food additives. It is an attempt to, thorough farming, to enhance soil health, improve environmental quality, and use natural resources more efficiently. Essentially, "organic strategies are designed to make nature work for us, instead of developing systems to defeat nature? (1).
